The Humane Society of Lincoln County (HSLC) was established in 1987 in Ruidoso, New Mexico. A 600sq Ft, shelter was built with a capacity to host 110 animals. Their mission is to provide a safe and caring environment for animals giving them the best chance for adoption. Additionally, they want to reduce unnecessary euthanasia of pets by providing programs and services to end overpopulation and educate the public about protecting animals from abuse, cruelty and neglect.
Our grant will assist HSLC in the purchase of a grooming tub for their newly built shelter, which will replace an old unusable one. Staff and volunteers will be able to wash and brush the dogs, spending some quality time with them and having the opportunity to check for burrs, fleas, ticks or any injuries.
